There are many reasons for this. Chess is not recognised as a sport in Australia. In most countries it is. Our geographical location also makes it difficult to host international events. So for strong youngsters your best option is to go overseas, which brings me to my next recommendation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Vizag, India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A few days ago I received an invitation to play in India. I have been to India many times and have always found the tournaments to be very strong, well organised and cheap. All players are\u00a0accommodated and stronger players (IM&#8217;s and above) receive good incentives to play. The next good tournament starts on the 25th of October. Just such a tournament is taking place in Caloundra on the 24th and 25th of November.
