It makes the list of best books of all time of virtually every top player. Another reason is the field. It was won convincingly by Smyslov two points ahead of \u00a0Bronstein, Keres, Reshevsky etc.<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR6iV05UmdkCQYAuQOfqTYL3KUBT2LuVOhl0PccUvOAjvzBiq9Zlw\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The last Candidates tournament to select the challenger to the world champion was held in Curacao in\u00a01962. After that the format changed to knock out matches. Bobby Fischer considered the tournament format unfair as it allowed collusion between players from the Soviet Union.<\/p>\n<p>Now in a hilarious twist of fate the format has been changed back because the current world number one, <a href=\"http:\/\/magnuscarlsen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Magnus Carlsen<\/a>, has expressed a preference for a tournament. He is the only player not from a former Soviet Union country\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Laughing\" src=\"http:\/\/www.doubleroo.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/ultimate-tinymce\/emotions\/img\/smiley-laughing.gif\" alt=\"Laughing\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now we have an\u00a0opportunity to watch this historic event live with expert commentary.
