Those eliminated went into the Rapid {15 minutes} competition. In retrospect the format was a little complicated and we were not optimally prepared. For example, I did not know exactly how to make the knockout pairings. Luckily sports fan George Withers did know and made the pairing board thereby saving the day <img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/www.doubleroo.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/ultimate-tinymce\/emotions\/img\/smiley-smile.gif\" alt=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" \/>. Outside we could have arranged the clocks and boards better. As it was at least one game ended unfortunately as Jason Wang lost a winning game { mate in one} by pressing the wrong side of the clock. Despite these mishaps most players seemed to have a good time. Have a look at the quarter final.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O7qtz4vjmIU\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The final was between Aleksander Dessus and Henry Slater -Jones and Alexander won a thriller. Third was Thomas Yang. Michael Ostapenko won the Boys U10 prize and Fynnigan Keaveney-Jones the Boys unrated prize. The Girls prizes were dominated by the Watkins sisters {Australian Polgars\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Smile\" src=\"http:\/\/www.doubleroo.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/plugins\/ultimate-tinymce\/emotions\/img\/smiley-smile.gif\" alt=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" \/>} with Sophie taking out the Girls prize and Rachel the Girls unrated.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to David Gray who did an excellent Job as Director of play and Brodie McClymont who helped DOP, manned the tuckshop and magically appeared\u00a0wherever needed.
