Academy Update

Jul19
2012
Written by Alex

Dear Chess-friends,

Monday after school chess.

A group is forming on Monday afternoons and a few students have already signed up. Doors open at 3.30pm, lesson starts at about 4pm or when everybody has arrived. Different chess activities continue until about 6pm.

Sunday advanced group.

Do not be intimidated by the name. This group is concurrent with the Elite Squad and features light coaching and plenty of play. Various levels are represented.

Elite Squad

Homework?  Two days and no solutions have been submitted! I may have to offer an incentive. First correct answer to either study gets a Freddo Frog 🙂

Dortmund 2012

If you want to see how the best players play and get some freshly baked opening novelties to surprise your opponents then watch the strongest tournament currently running, live. http://www.sparkassen-chess-meeting.de/2012/  Vlad Kramnik has a habit of winning this event and is on course again this year.

Cheers,

Aleks
